Planning
New
tooling is built at TrimLine, our wholly-owned facility
in nearby La Grange, Ohio. TrimLine engineers work closely with Varbros
in advanced quality planning to ensure compliance to all customer
requirements.
The Varbros engineering team creates master control plans, establishes
proper die station sequences, and closely coordinates die construction with
Trimline engineers.
Tooling
All new tooling is guaranteed for the life of the part, when production
parts are produced by Varbros. As long as your part is in production, you
never pay another die charge. Our modern 8,000 square foot tool and die
repair department equipped with CNC turning and machining centers ensures
our ability to maintain tooling in an as new condition.
With over 15,000 square feet dedicated to the design and manufacturing of tools in our TrimLine facility, Varbros offers innovative, cost cutting procedures to keep tool and die costs low. For example, a unique innovation of Varbros engineers is the extensive use of die carriers requiring tool inserts only. In many cases, particularly when a design change occurs in a part, this concept reduces tooling costs by avoiding the cost of an entirely new die.

Transfer Tooling
As well as “progressive tooling”, Varbros also offers “transfer tooling” production that maximizes raw material utilization. Many of our customers have saved up to 11% in material cost using this process.
Welding
A Varbros' specialty is high-speed spot/projection welding. Six station
automatic assembly line welders weld at high of production rates. The company's
own tool and die center produces the tooling for our battery of 150 and
250 KVA welders.
Tapping
The
Company operates a battery of 18 high volume drilling and
tapping centers including multi-station gravity fed units with capacities
up to 4" diameter threads. All machines are equipped
with automatic cleaning and rust inhibiting application units. Thread
quality is checked constantly to meet all customer specifications.
